CARIFES—-A merging of french speaking and english speaking Caribbean
I think at times during World Assembly I had wondered if I would be able to interact well with my french speaking brothers from sister isles and countries being an english speaker. Quite a few days has passed without me really sharing ministry experiences or even making those necessary friendships that will bond the Caribbean family even more. \
Today however, our regional secretary of the Caribbean Fellowship of Evangelical Students (CARIFES) encouraged us to do a joint performance portraying the worship traditions of the Caribbean, and somehow… we managed to mingle. We did a medley that featured both english and french speaking songs alongside spoken word poetry. Yes, we Caribbean people know how to mix up ah ting good. It was a really nice experience. I think that is the one thing I want to engage in again as the World Assembly goes on. That, while we make connections with people all over the world, that we also make the connections with people within our ow region as well. I only now realized, language was never a barrier. My own fear was. GOD is good and worthy to be praised.
The next thing I want us to do, is walk through Poland sinning those song yes.
“I made up my mind to go God’s way, the rest of my life.” So goodbye world.
